CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Some young patients at Driscoll Children's Hospital are getting their very own Valentine's Day goodies thanks to some National Honor Society students from Ingleside High School.
They call it Operation Valentine. The students made cards and goodie bags to drop off to the hospital on Wednesday. Those goodies will then be distributed to patients.
The best part is, the students came up with the idea.
"We have multiple friends who have chronic illnesses that had to stay long trips at Driscoll, so we know how hard it gets for holidays being stuck in a hospital," student Megan Whitehead said. "So we decided to spread a little cheer."
Hospital officials said all the young patients will receive gifts.
