People Assisting Animal Control, a non-profit animal rescue organization known as PAAC, needs help putting the final touches on its new facility off Ayers and Holly.

PAAC is asking for volunteers to come out at 9 a.m. Saturday to help paint, put up wall panels and landscape. The organization says they especially need a weed eater and lawn mower, or for volunteers to cut the grass for them.

PAAC President Cheryl Martinez said the faster they can get all the landscaping and final building tasks done, the sooner they can continue to spay, neuter and vaccinate animals in need.

"All of this is very important because we cannot get our occupancy permit until we do all these things for the City's final inspection," Martinez said.

They hope to have the new facility up and running in two weeks. Martinez said volunteers can stop by to help out not just Saturday, but everyday leading up to the opening.
