CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Police are investigating a shooting on North Beach that left a young man dead Saturday. The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. last night near the Fajitaville restaurant.
Authorities said they found 28-year-old Jacob Lopez who had been shot. Lopez was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline hospital where he later died from his injuries.
"Right now it's still under investigation. It's still very early on in the investigation. We are still trying to determine what exactly occurred," officer Gina Pena said.
Three men were detained as part of the investigation. Corpus Christi police said all three have been released.
Police said a shooter has been identified and the case was turned over to the District Attorney's Office.
