A pregnant driver faced some tense moments Monday morning after a vehicle cut her off and caused her to crash head-on into a parked car in a westside bakery.

Corpus Christi police said the pregnant driver was cut off by another motorist traveling southbound on Crosstown Monday morning, causing her to veer off the freeway into a parking lot.

Investigators said they were able to get a good description of the white Volkswagen, but they want the driver to come forward or face steeper charges when caught.

The driver was treated at the scene.

"Airbags deployed in her vehicle, but she declined to go to the hospital," said Officer Jesus Soliz of the Corpus Christi Police Department. "But she will be checked out later."

Police are also asking anyone that saw the accident to call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
