REFUGIO (Kiii Sports) - The Refugio Bobcats might be going for their second title in three seasons Thursday, but their two paths to the championship game couldn't be any different.

Back in 2011, the Bobcats quickly rose to the top ranking in the state in Class 2A and scored at will, setting what was at the time the state scoring record. Refugio sported a strong group of seniors including Baylor-commit Lynx Hawthorne at receiver.

The 2013 version of the Bobcats started out as an underdog for the title after losing to East Bernard in the region final the year before. Aside from a couple of seniors at skill positions including quarterback Travis Quintanilla, the Bobcats were young without a ton of starting experience.

That underdog status was only enhanced further when Refugio lost its first regular season game in seven years to Lago Vista. The Bobcats then beat three previously unbeaten teams in the last three rounds of the playoffs to advance to the title game against Cisco, the team they beat for the crown two years ago.

The Bobcats will look to win their fourth state title in school history Thursday when they take on Cicso at 8 p.m. at Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. The Blitz will be there will full coverage from Arlington.
