A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday morning in Robstown, marking the start of construction for a new City Hall building.

The new building will be located next to the current City Hall, at 101 East Main Avenue between 1st and 2nd streets and Main Avenue. The groundbreaking began at 10:30 a.m.

The mayor, city council members and utility systems board of trustees announced that funding was provided by the United States Department of Agriculture-Rural Development to construct the new building.
