CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Second Annual 'Juneteenth for the Crest' was held at Cole Park Saturday night to commemorate the end of slavery in the U.S.
The event was hosted by the local chapter of Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education.
The organization held the event in order to educate the community about the importance of this celebration and offer them resources.
The event offered educational and job search resources, a health and wellness area, and performances.
Our very own Marissa Cummings was the emcee for the celebration.
