A quick thinking security officer and the Corpus Christi police are credited with tracking down a shoplifting suspect on Wednesday.
Adam Estes, 40, was arrested on theft charges after police said he tried to get away with a shopping cart full of tools from Lowes.
Police said a loss prevention officer ran after the man as he was driving off, but before the suspect could get away, the officer snapped a photo of the license plate with a cell phone camera.
Officers ran the information and arrested Estes at his home along the 400 block of Weaver. The merchandise he is accused of stealing is valued at more than $2,500.
