CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The owner of a Coastal Bend Sonic Drive-In decided to help Miller High School seniors afford their caps and gowns for graduation.
"Sonic Drive-In truly values the community that we serve so we are always looking for opportunities that we can help in any way that we can, and you know every day we are just trying to serve and help as many people as we can," Alfredo Izaguirre said.
Izaguirre saw the story of how Miller High School needed donations, and after talking with other Sonic owners decided to donate money to help the graduating class.
"The outreach and the outpoint of support have been amazing, we are very touched, and we have shot a few tears, but it's happy tears of joy," assistant principal Jenifer Martinez said.
With Friday's donation, Miller was able to surpass their goal.
