Taft Independent School District's Chad Kelly was voted the Superintendent of the Year for 2015 on Wednesday.
The award ceremony was held at the Education Service Center downtown and is sponsored by the Texas Association of School Boards. The award has been presented each year since 1984.
"I'm proud of Taft ISD and everything that we have done for our community and for our students at Taft ISD. When you have 100-percent of your students that get into college or university, that is something to celebrate. This celebration is more about the accomplishments of Taft ISD than my accomplishments as a superintendent."
From here, Dr. Kelly will be go on to the state competition for Texas Superintendent of the Year. That competition will be held in August.
