Teens meet their favorite authors at 5th Annual Teen Bookfest by the Bay

Dozens of authors came out to Saturday's event for book signings, to discuss their work, and even held workshops.

Teens in Corpus Christi showed up to the American Bank Center Saturday to let their inner bookworm come out.

Teen Bookfest by the Bay hosted their 5th annual teen author book festival.

Dozens of authors came out to Saturday's event for book signings, to discuss their work, and even held workshops.

3News spoke with a few teens who said despite having technology, reading is still important to them.

"It's not something that you really see anymore and it keeps you attached with the real world," Stacy Yates said.

"I like it because you can actually imagine what you read and feel like you're in it and you just get more imagination," Beatriz Martinez said.

The book festival is held every year by Coastal Bend librarians and teachers to promote the joy of reading and is all made possible by grants and donations.
