The accident happened around 10:23 A.M. on Saturday morning.

SARITA, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate a single-vehicle crash that killed a 56-year-old man.

The crash happened on US Highway 77, nearly one and a half miles south of Armstrong, in Kenedy County. DPS said the preliminary investigation found a gold, Dodge Ram pickup truck was headed north of US-77 when the crash happened.

DPS said the investigation revealed the truck's left rear tire blew out which caused the driver to lose control and ultimately, the truck rolled over several times with nine people, including the driver, inside.

Officials reported 56-year-old Lucas Hernandez Ruiz from Raymondville, Texas was pronounced dead on scene. He was reportedly a passenger in the truck.

Texas DPS said some of the occupants were transported to Kleberg Christus Spohn Hospital in Kingsville an others were taken via Halo Flight to Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen.
