Within minutes of a 3News story regarding a home invasion in San Diego on Tuesday, a tip was called in to police that led to an arrest.

Armando Salaiz, 42, was arrested, and since then police have also arrested 32-year old Jeffery Briones and 39-year old Elias Martinez, Jr. Two suspects, 32-year old Jorge Garcia and one who has still not been identified, are still at large.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the men broke into a home and assaulted a man on April 22. Police said witnesses came forward to help with their investigation.

"We were able to do this because of the assistance of the witnesses, and it's hard when we don't have witnesses who cooperate," said Lt. Fernando Garcia of the San Diego Police Department. "They're afraid, and sometimes things go without anything getting done because people are afraid, you know. They get scared, so I commend these people who came in and came forward and identified these other people."

Police said a witness identified the suspects that were arrested in a photo lineup.

There were four young children at the home at the time of the invasion and alleged assault. One was as young as two years old. Police said the adults who were there are really upset that the kids had to see the alleged assault, and that is why they came forward.

Police said the witnesses told them if it could happen to them, it could happen to others, and they didn't want that.
