CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Tropical Storm Barry will target the Louisiana Coast on Saturday and will probably remain at tropical storm status

10-20" of flooding rain will fall east of the center of the track.  The puts New Orleans in a precarious position with an already saturated surface and more rain coming.  River flooding is expected to crest near the top of some levees in New Orleans.

Impact in the Coastal Bend:

  • The Coastal Bend is expecting some isolated rain on Thursday/Friday, that could include isolated showers and possibly thunder. 
  • Coastal Flooding with water up to the dunes on parts of Padre Island.
  • High risk for rip currents though the rest of the week and into the weekend.
