Two killed, one in critical condition following 18-wheeler crash in Aransas Pass

Police said a 61-year-old female driver and a 33-year-old rear passenger were both killed in the crash.

ARANSAS PASS, Texas — Two people were killed Wednesday evening in a crash involving an 18-wheeler at the intersection of Marshall Lane and Highway 35, according to the Aransas Pass Police Department.

A third passenger remains in critical condition.

It happened just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a passenger vehicle with three occupants inside was crossing Highway 35 at the Marshall Lane intersection when an 18-wheeler heading northbound t-boned the passenger vehicle.

Police said a 61-year-old female driver and a 33-year-old rear passenger were both killed in the crash. Emergency crews had to use the jaws of life to free a front-seat passenger from the vehicle. That passenger was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured and police said no charges have been filed in this tragic crash.
