Monday was Dollar Day at the Texas State Aquarium, where an estimated 5,000-6,000 people walked through its doors.

The non-profit was able to provide Dollar Day through Navy Army Community Credit Union's sponsorship.

"It's one of the only times of the year we can make the Aquarium accessible to any family in the area," said Richard Glover of the Texas State Aquarium. "there are some families that can't afford to come at certain times of the year, and at a dollar, everyone can afford to come on these days."

"I hardly ever get to go here, but I like the dolphins and the otters and the sharks and the sting rays," 10-year old Billy Martinez said.

The Aquarium had an extensive schedule of events and showcases to enjoy for visitors that were either there for their first time or even seasoned visitors.
