The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District is looking for volunteers to help them give the downtown area a facelift.

The first batch of helpers was on hand Monday morning sweeping and picking up trash. They will also be painting curbs and trying to take care of some unwanted graffiti.

The organization's leader said the goal is to give the downtown area a much cleaner look.

The clean-up project continues through the end of March. Crews will be out from 8 a.m.-noon every day. If you would like to help, go to for an application.
