Clear-bag policy required at Cabaniss Sports Complex, Buccaneer Stadium starting 2019-20 school year

Any visitor or spectator attending an event held at the venues will be required to follow the procedure for high school and middle school events.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Starting the 2019-2020 school year Corpus Christi Independent School District will implement a clear-bag requirement for all athletic events at Cabaniss Sports Complex and Buccaneer Stadium.

The new policy guideline will help enhance the components of CCISD Bond 2016 and Bond 2018 to create a safer environment for everyone.

Any visitor or spectator attending an event held at the venues will be required to follow the procedure for high school and middle school events.

Clear tote bags may be plastic, vinyl, or PVC. They may not exceed 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches.  A small clutch bag no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches─ approximately the size of a hand─ (with or without a handle or strap) is approved.  Other bags such as backpacks, diaper bags, and camera bags, etc. will not be allowed in the stadium.

According to CCISD, HEB will offer clear-bags during their Back to School package while Mira's Sports and More will offer the bags at their retail store.
