CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — There was a winter wonderland at Whataburger Field Friday night even though temperatures reached well into the high 90s.
The Corpus Christi Hooks hosted their second annual Christmas in July event where fans were able to enjoy an afternoon in the snow and all things Christmas before the game.
"It was fun ya know, not something you can't do in South Texas because of the heat," Jojo & Layla Rendon said. "It was fun, even if I did get a little bit of ice in my shoes. It felt good!"
According to Hooks officials, the pile of snow can last well past game time and up to 36 hours.
