PORTLAND, Texas — Austin Westlake head football coach and offensive guru Todd Dodge was back in Portland Monday for his quarterbacks and receivers camp.
Dodge was one of the first coaches in the state to implement the spread offense.
Dodge is a four time state champion coach and was also the quarterback for the Texas Longhorns in the early to mid 80's.
Dodge says that the biggest key for the kids is to spend time together both on and off the field in the offseason to develop a better chemistry.
According to Dodge, there were about 115 campers from all over the area and as far away as Dallas.
Monday was the the second straight year that his camp has made a stop at Gregory-Portland high school.
