CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Three Olympic swimmers will be in Corpus Christi Wednesday to raise awareness for swimming and share life-saving tips.
USA Olympians Cullen Jones, Josh Davis, and Rowdy Gaines will be in Corpus Christi for USA Swimming Foundation 50th annual Make a Splash Tour.
USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash initiative is a national child-focused water safety campaign that aims to provide the opportunity for a child in America to learn to swim.
“The Make a Splash Tour presented by Phillips 66 is designed to bring awareness to the importance of teaching children the skills they need to build their confidence in the water, and in life,” USA Swimming Foundation Executive Director Debbie Hesse said.
According to USA Swimming, over 7.5 million children have received the lifesaving gift of swim lessons through the foundation.
Residents will have the chance to meet Davis and Jones at 5:15 p.m. during the Corpus Christi Hooks game at Whataburger Field.
