Shocking news as former Islanders baseball player and Oakland Athletics' prospect Casey Thomas was found dead Monday night at the age of 24.
No details of Thomas' death have been released, but A's General Manager Billy Beane took to social media Tuesday to call Thomas a "wonderful young man."

Thomas played for the Islanders for two years in 2015 and 2016 and was drafted by the A's in the 34th round in last year's draft. He was with Oakland's extended spring training team in Phoenix, AZ at the time of his death.
