Islanders men's tennis draws Aggies in NCAA Tournament

Friday will mark the eighth appearance in program history for the Islanders' men in the national tournament.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi men's tennis team will face Texas A&M in the first round of the 2019 NCAA Championship Tournament. The Islanders will travel to College Station for the first round matchup against the No. 13 overall seed Aggies. The match will be played on Friday, May 3, at the Mitchell Tennis Center with a start time to be released later this week. Fans can view the 2019 bracket HERE.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is 19-8 on the season and beat the University of the Incarnate Word and Abilene Christian last weekend to win the program's eighth Southland title an NCAA automatic selection.

This marks the eighth trip to the NCAA Tournament for the Islander men who made it in 2004, '08, '09, '11, '13, '14 and '15. The A&M-Corpus Christi women qualified for the tournament in 2014, '16 and '17. Under Director of Tennis Steve Moore, the Islanders have earned an NCAA Tournament bid 10 times and 11 times all-time in program history.
