Islanders win pitchers' duel over UTSA

Texas A&M-CC got its eighth win of the year with a walk-off sac fly over the Roadrunners.

- The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi softball team got a walk-off victory over UTSA on Wednesday afternoon, 1-0, at Chapman Field.

- Kennedy Johnson hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Sammi Thomas in the bottom of the seventh after Thomas led off the inning with a triple.

- Kandace Johnson threw a complete game shutout, allowing five hits. She struck out two and walked just two batters.

- Texas A&M-Corpus Christi got one run on three hits with no errors. The Roadrunners were held to five hits and committed one error.

- Ashley Moss went 1-for-3 on the day.

- Thomas was 1-for-3 with a triple that set up the winning run.

- Kandace Johnson also went 1-for-2 at the plate.

- In the circle, she set down UTSA in order in the first, fourth and fifth innings. Johnson set down the first five batters she faced in the game.
