Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Women's basketball lost a nail-biter with New Mexico 67-65.

- In a matchup featuring seven lead changes and a finish that came down to the wire, the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi women's basketball program (5-5, 0-0 Southland) nearly secured an upset bid over visiting New Mexico State (6-3, 0-0 WAC), faltering by an eventual 67-65 margin Tuesday evening on the Corpus Christi Athletic Club court at the American Bank Center.

- Junior Dalesia Booth posted a game-high 20 points and pulled down six rebounds in the loss, going 7-for-10 from the floor, 2-for-3 from beyond the arc and 100 percent from the free throw line.

- Four Islanders that finished the game in double digits: Booth, junior Emma Young (10 points), junior La'Janeira Robinson (10 points), and senior Brianna Jackson (10 points)

- Despite a slow start to open the game, the Islanders best period came in the first as they outscored the Aggies 24-18. During that initial quarter, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi shot 50 percent (8-of-16) from the floor, 57.1 percent from the three-point line (4-of-7) and 100 percent from the free-throw line (4-of-4).

- For the game, the Islanders finished shooting 46.7 percent (21-of-45) overall, 63.6 percent (7-of-11) at the three point line and 72.7 percent (16-of-22) at the charity stripe.

- With just five seconds remaining in regulation, Robinson drilled a three-pointer to close the gap from four down to one. A quick foul and 1-of-2 at the line from the Aggies set A&M-Corpus Christi up with an opportunity at a buzzer beater, but a deflected pass ended the game.
