KINGSVILLE, Texas — The Texas A&M-Kingsville softball team received a hero's welcome Tuesday night after coming up just shy of the program's first national title the day before.
A good crowd gathered outside McCulley Hall on campus to welcome the team back into town after a grueling week in Denver.
Texas A&M-Kingsville dropped both games to Augustana Monday after taking the series lead late Sunday night and into overnight Monday morning. The Javelinas lead 4-0 in the third and deciding game before the Vikings rallied to win 6-4 to claim their second title.
