CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — TODAY: Temperatures will start in the upper 70s and warm into the middle 90s this afternoon. Heat Index Values top out between 105 and 110. Mainly sunny skies and a southeasterly breeze at 15-25 mph.
TONIGHT: Overnight lows in the upper 70s and low 80s with a southeast 8-15 mph breeze. Partly cloudy skies.
LOOKING AHEAD: Hot, humid, and breezy conditions into the weekend. A small plume of Saharan Dust will work in on Saturday and Sunday, making for hazier skies. By the middle of next week, a strong ridge in the west will help a trough develop in the eastern half of the country. This set up should prompt northwesterly flow aloft and may send a weak front into south central Texas sometimes Tuesday-Thursday. Regardless of whether it makes it all the way to the Coastal Bend, temperatures will remain hot. The front will serve to increase rain chances and reduce wind.
