November marks Native American Heritage month and there was a unique art reception Saturday at the Janet Harte Library in Flour Bluff.

The original works of art were on display for people to browse through and were all for sale. They were created by Larry "Running Turtle" Salazar. He was also there to sell and sign copies of his book, The Pipe and The Pen.

He says this is all to recognize the Native American heritage. Proceeds from Saturday's event goes to a monument which will go up at Hans Suter Park once donations are raised as a tribute to the second largest Indian burial ground in Texas. All works of art will be for sale until the end of November.
