CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An assistant professor of engineering at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was recently named as an alternate to participate in a simulated mission to Mars.
Jose Baca, along with a four-person crew, will have the opportunity to live and work like astronauts inside NASA's Human Exploration Research Analog at the Johnson Space Center in Houston for 45 days.
He is one of two alternates chosen.
