CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — NAACP Corpus Christi President Jeremy Coleman presented two of the chapter's 2024 President's Awards to city employees during Tuesday’s Corpus Christi City Council meeting Tuesday.
An award was presented to firefighter Joe Brunemeier, and one to Sony Peronel, assistant to city manager Peter Zanoni, for the men's dedication to building a better community in the Coastal Bend with equal rights for all who live here.
Coleman honored the men in front of council members Tuesday afternoon after they were formally recognized at the local H. Boyd Hall chapter's Freedom Fund Gala in January.
