San Antonio dancer is getting the makeover of a lifetime with help from Selena Quintanilla's former hairstylist

They will be recreating Selena's iconic look from the 1993 Tejano Music Awards.

SAN ANTONIO — A local dancer will be getting a makeover by Selena Quintanilla Perez's former hairstylist just in time for San Antonio's annual Bidi Bidi Party

Jackleen Rios is the lucky dancer who's been selected. She is also the dance director for the Jewel of Art Dance Studio.

“I feel extremely honored,” Rios said. “I just thought it would be really cool to really replicate the exact look and really try to embody Selena.”

What better way to replicate one of Selena's iconic looks for the 'Pearl Bidi Bidi Party'  than working with one of her former hairstylists – Tina Ruiz?

“I got in touch with Tina because we’re going to be performing tomorrow," Rios said.

Rios never would have imagined she would be this close to Selena’s entourage one day.

“I remember being a kid and seeing Selena and I had like Selena posters and I had a Selena doll," Rios said.

Ruiz will be recreating Selena's iconic look from the 1993 Tejano Music Awards.

“Tina’s worked with a lot of artists and done a lot of stuff here locally in San Antonio so I consider her a celebrity hairstylist for sure. Her and Mario Itularde are the ones who created the updo for her,” Rios said.

Rios and her dancers say they’ll do ‘anything for Selenas!’

“I just feel extremely blessed that we are able to have this opportunity,” Rios said.

If you would like to learn any of the signature Selena moves – go to the Jewel of Art Dance Studio

You can watch Rios and other performers April 16 at the Pearl's Bidi Bidi Party.
