CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Water tells 3NEWS that the city is likely to enter Stage 2 water restrictions within the week.
Once that decision is made, the city will review the specifics of that stage at a news conference at the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant.
The city hasn't enacted Stage 2 restrictions since 2015.
The city's most recent levels report a combined lake levels of 30.2 percent.
Stage 2 restrictions typically are enacted when lake levels drop to below 30 percent.
For perspective, last month, the lake levels were at 31.3.
In December, Molly said Corpus Christi has only enacted State 2 restrictions three times before: in 1996, 2001, and 2015.
The primary change for residents, businesses and local institutions when Stage 2 is enacted is that the yard watering schedule changes from once weekly to once every other week.
Stage 3 is triggered when the lake levels fall below 20 percent.
This is a developing story. 3NEWS will provide updates as they become available.
