Some Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students are hitting the water this Spring Break, but not for vacation. It was actually part of their studies.

On Wednesday, the students were in the Corpus Christi Marina near the Yacht Club getting training to be certified in oil spill response. They are in the National Spill Control School at the university.

The week-long certification course shows the students different techniques including how to skim and collect oil off the surface of the water. The course wraps up Friday.
