City announces winter break camps for CCISD, Calallen students as holiday approaches

The city said the camps are a great opportunity for busy and working parents to find engaging childcare for their kids over the winter holiday break.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It is not too early to get your kids set for a jolly winter holiday school break!

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department recently announced open signups for their Vacation Station camp- which they said aims to serve the needs of busy and working parents.

The After Hour Kid Program will offer two Vacation Station camps for children ages 5 to 13 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during CCISD and Calallen ISD's upcoming winter holiday break.

Calallen ISD camp will be held on December 18 through December 22 and December 26 through December 29 at Wood River Elementary, located at 15118 Dry Creek Drive, for $20 per child per day.

Corpus Christi ISD camp will be held on December 26 through December 29 and January 2 through January 5, 2024, at Galvan Elementary School, located at 3126 Masterson Drive, for $30 per child per day.

Online sign-up will open at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, at https://cclatchkey.egdata.com/parent_login.cfm.

The city said its list will remain open until all spots are filled. Children may attend one day, two days, or all camp days.

Camp activities will include arts and crafts, sports, gaming tournaments, and other engaging activities. 

Vacation Station camps are offered during school breaks with participating school districts in safe and supervised environments.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily at the CCISD site. Parents of the children attending the Calallen ISD site will need to send breakfast and lunch with their child (no glass containers or microwaveable items, and NO peanut products allowed).
