Big news for a big building. The former headquarters of Whataburger has been sold. It's one of several major projects underway in the Parkdale Plaza area.
They won't say who bought it because of a confidentiality clause. Online the 50,000 square foot property was listed for $5 Million, but again the actual sale price was not disclosed because of that confidentiality agreement. What we do know, is after a few years of sitting vacant, it's going to take a lot of work to get the building back up and ready for business.
The new owners need only look across the street to Parkdale Plaza to see first hand how to take an old property and make it new again. The Parkdale Plaza Walmart opened back in October and now the new strip mall in the parking lot is in the final stages of construction. Confirmed so far, a dentists office, hair salon and same day cash business. The owner is also trying to secure a new restaurant.
