CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — She's only known six days of freedom, but the recently-paroled Gypsy Rose Blanchard has already been spotted the world over -- or so some internet jokesters will have you believe.
The Gypsy Rose Blanchard "First Selfie of Freedom" meme first made its rounds online after Blanchard was released from state prison Thursday.
Blanchard served eight years for her part in the murder of her abusive mother, DeeDee Blanchard, whose abuse is alleged to be the result of Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome.
In typical Internet fashion, followers of Blanchard's tragic story gave the news of her release a lighthearted spin by editing the background of Blanchard's first post-prison selfie, claiming they spotted her in a wild variety of locations – including some iconic places in Corpus Christi.
Here are a few of the wildest places Corpus Christi residents have "spotted" Gypsy Rose:
The Selena Statue
Emerald Beach Hotel
Taco Palenque
Hi-Ho Restaurant
Pancho's Mexican Buffet
The USS Lexington
But her South Texas trek doesn't end in Corpus Christi – she's also made her way to:
Eagle Pass
Alice
Laredo
Roma
Kingsville
Beeville
