Corpus Christi Hooks take World Series trophy to Selena's statue

The Hooks took the 2017 World Series trophy to the Queen of Tejano's famed statue downtown to get a selfie with Selena Quintanilla.

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) — If Tejano music and Major League Baseball have one thing in common, it's that some of the greatest hits came out of Corpus Christi, Texas.

On Wednesday the Corpus Christi Hooks, Double-A affiliate of 2017 World Series Champions the Houston Astros, showed that on Instagram.

The Hooks took the World Series trophy to the Queen of Tejano's famed statue downtown to get a selfie with Selena Quintanilla.

The Houston Astros World Series trophy -- won by former Hooks players like George Springer, Dallas Keuchel, Jose Altuve, and more -- was in Corpus Christi Monday and Tuesday and toured the city, even making a stop at the Kiii-TV studios. It was put on display at Whataburger Field both nights for Hooks fans to see.
