Islanders men clinch Southland's #2 seed with win over UNO

Texas A&M-CC got a game-high 21 points from Garry Clark in the win over the Privateers Monday.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was a big night Monday for the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team, who clinched the #2 seed in the Southland Tournament with a 73-60 win over New Orleans at the American Bank Center.

The Islanders got a game-high 21 points from Garry Clark and 18 from Dayne Prim. The second seed grants Texas A&M-CC a double bye into the Southland Semifinal round next week.

The Islanders will be looking for their third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, but the first under Head Coach Jim Shaw, who took over for Steve Lutz this season. Texas A&M-CC will finish out the regular season at home Wednesday against Incarnate Word.
