LAKE CHARLES, La. — The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team came up short of a Southland Tournament three-peat as the Islanders fell to Nicholls in overtime 81-73 Tuesday in the semifinal.

Texas A&M-CC rallied from double digits down in the first half to tie the game 69-69 with under two minutes to go. Garry Clark was whistled for a questionable loose ball foul on a defensive rebound, his fifth of the game. Clark joined Dayne Prim and Owen Dease on the bench with all three fouling out.

Stephen Giwa had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation, but had his shot blocked. The overtime was all Nicholls with Michael Gray Jr. hitting a big three-pointer.

The Southland will have a new representative in the NCAA Tournament with #3 Nicholls set to face #1 McNeese Wednesday at 4 PM on the Cowboys' home court in Lake Charles.
