SA Parks & Recreation giving away 1,000 fruit trees!

San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department giving away 1,000 fruit trees on March 23!

SAN ANTONIO — Spring is here and that means it's time for San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department to give away some free fruit trees!

Every year they give away trees to help us grow a stronger tree canopy in San Antonio.

They will be distributing 1,000 fruit trees to San Antonio residents for FREE next Saturday, March 23, at Monterrey Park located on West Commerce Street, beginning at 8 a.m.

They will give out only one tree per household and it's a walk-up event.

The available trees include:

  • Lemon
  • Lime
  • Key Lime
  • Orange
  • Peach
  • Pomegranate
  • Fig

Get your tree San Antonio, and plant some roots!

Organizers say to arrive early because the line may begin to form way before the distribution begins at 8 a.m.

All of the trees will be passed out while supplies last. The staff will cutoff the line at 1,000 guests.
