FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI POLIVE DEPARTMENT:

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Corpus Christi Police Department is proud to announce yet another convenient method to file certain types of police reports. This web based reporting system will allow the public to file Lost Property, Theft from a Vehicle, Theft, Vandalism, and Vandalism to a Vehicle reports directly and immediately online.

We believe that our web based reporting option will allow officers in the field more time to focus on in progress calls and preventative patrols while allowing citizens another option to receive police service via the Internet.

The service will allow the public to file a report at a time that is best for them without having to wait for an officer to respond or the Telephone Reporting Unit to call back.

In order to file a report, the crime or loss must have occurred within the City of Corpus Christi, the individual must be 17 years of age, and the total value of the crimes must be less than $1,500. The public will be able to print a temporary copy of the report immediately upon submission. They will be issued a number that they can provide to their insurance company at that time.

The report will then be reviewed by police personnel and once approved, the reporting party will receive an e-mail attachment of the official police report free of charge. The report will be transferred into the Corpus Christi Police Department's records management system and receive the same statistical analysis as if the report had been filed by a police officer.

The On Line Reporting Link is available and can be accessed via the www.ccpolice.com link. It is available in English with the Spanish version becoming available with the next few months. The $27,000 cost of this On Line Reporting system was purchased from federally seized drug funds.
