The Corpus Christi Independent School District announced Monday via Twitter that a new mascot has been selected to replace Hamlin Middle School's Rebel mascot.
Students, families, and staff cast ballots between Jan. 23-26. 666 ballots were cast and the "Hawks" beat out the "Sharks" 372-294.
