Police: Man arrested for DWI, woman taken to hospital after rollover accident

According to police the 50-year-old woman was taken to Bay Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

CORPUS CHRISTI (KIII NEWS) — A woman was sent to the hospital Friday night after a rollover crash in Flour Bluff at the intersection of Laguna Shores and Mediterranean Drive.

According to Corpus Christi Police Department, the accident happened after 8:00 p.m. when a 40-year-old man was driving an SUV and ran a stop sign, smashed into a car, and then rolled over.

Witnesses at the scene said the man was able to crawl out of a window.

"We didn't see it happen we came up afterward and thought we'd call it in then pulled over here to get out of the way," neighbor Carla Patterson said. "Lucky there was nobody walking their kids on the side of the street."

The 50-year-old woman was taken to Bay Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was arrested for suspicion of DWI.

Police said depending on the injuries of the woman charges could change for the suspect.
