Police: Man suspected of being involved in smash and grab robberies across the city arrested

Steve Salazar is believed to be involved in a string of smash and grabs across the city, according to Corpus Christi Police.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Police have arrested a person they believe to be involved in the smash and grab robberies that have been taking place across the city. 

Corpus Christi Police tell 3News Steve Salazar was arrested Wednesday evening on Mayfield Street in Annaville.

Police say they were able to positively identify Salazar at the residence after receiving information he was in the home. 

Salazar was taking into custody after leading police on a foot chase, according to police.

Salazar was booked into the City Detention Center on two separate warrants for aggravated robbery and one for robbery. He was also charged with evading arrest and criminal mischief.

The extent of his involvement in the robberies is unknown at this time. 3News is working on obtaining additional details in this case.
