Red Ribbon Week at Blanche Moore Elementary

Aurelio Tamayo, principal at Blanche Moor Elementary spoke about how exciting it was to kick off the school week, and what he wants people to take away.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Blanche Moore Elementary Red Ribbon parade kicked off on Monday morning . Law enforcement and other groups spoke with students and teachers about the dangers of drug use and misuse.

Red Ribbon Week is one of the oldest and largest drug prevention programs in the nation and continues to educate and unite students, along with parents, on how to live a drug-free life. 

Aurelio Tamayo, principal at Blanche Moor Elementary spoke about how exciting it was to kick off the school week, and what he wants people to take away from the week of events.

"Well, the main thing is we want to send a message. We are going to be drug free, we want our kids to have the best experience in school, out of school and for that we want it to be completely free of anything that could prevent them from having the best life they can. "
