Rockport's South Texas Family Planning Clinic reopens

The clinic resumed operations in March out of a temporary location.

Rockport (KIII News) — More than six months have passed since Hurricane Harvey and Rockport continues to recover. On Tuesday they celebrated the re-opening of the South Texas Family Planning Clinic.

The clinic was just one of many building destroyed during the hurricane. Staff had to face displacement for the last seven months as the clinic underwent renovation.

Zandra Gonzalez said they are happy to serve the coastal community once again.

"This is our life. This is what we do. Wake up and serve the community. The low-income, the uninsured. It's what we're here for. To serve," Gonzalez said.
