Special guests we given the VIP tour of the new FedEx Ground Terminal Building. It's the first business to be located in the airport's International Business Center. They are operating out of a 45,000 square foot facility that is home base for FedEx ground in the Coastal Bend region.

"We have about 28 employees. We have about 15 to 30 contract divers. All together your looking at 70 or so...We're going to be expanding right now, actually currently hiring for our peak season. So we're hiring drivers right now, so we're going to expand that as well. And the more business we get the more opportunities we get to service customers and different shippers so definitely we're going to grow," says Jason Gonzales with FedEx.

"We're looking at several things that'll make convenience for folks who are traveling like a convenience store. Maybe some hotels and some strip malls that could potentially provide eateries not only for customers here at the airport but along the 44 corridor," says Director of Aviation at CCIA, Fred Segundo.

The Business Center consists of about 80 acres of land that comes complete with utilities already in place. The airport hopes to lease land in the Business Center for private development.
