Six finalists in line for Corpus Christi City Manager position

City council members will ultimately have the final say, but Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb said he believes the public will be able to get the chance to meet the candidates and give their input.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The search continues for the next Corpus Christi City Manager. According to city leaders, the list of candidates has been narrowed down to six finalists.

City council members will ultimately have the final say, but Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb said he believes the public will be able to get the chance to meet the candidates and give their input.

The candidates including James Dinneen, Harry Black, Keith Selman, Simon Farbrother, Peter Zanoni, and Lee Feldman.

Current Interim City Manager Keith Selman, who has been in the position for almost a year since Margie Rose left, is among the candidates. The others are from places like Florida, Cincinnati, Canada, and San Antonio.

McComb believes the interview process should be done in both private and public settings.

"We want to try and get the best person we can, candidly answer the questions, no intent to embarass anybody," McComb said.

He said the thought process is that council will narrow the list further to three or four candidates and then hold a reception where the public would be able to meet the candidates and give their feedback to council.

The mayor said council hopes to get their background information back by the end of the month, and then narrow down the list after that.
