The San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Texas Rangers has made an arrest in relation to an unsolved murder near Mathis over a year ago.
On March 4, 2015, 26-year old Lou Anthony Gutierrez of Mathis was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Gutierrez was discovered by a property owner on Private Road 1080 south of Mathis. Investigators were able to obtain information that led to the arrest warrants for 24-year old Alexis Arguijo of Mathis and 23-year old Robert Ray Perez of Robstown for the murder.
The US Marshal’s Service of Corpus Christi assisted in locating and arresting the two suspects.
