CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Hooks have a familiar name on the roster to seasoned Astros fans: Wagner.
Wil Wagner is the son of former Astros closer "Billy the Kid" Wagner. He was called up to Double-A two weeks ago and hit his first career home run Sunday, a game-winning shot in the ninth inning against the Cardinals.
Wagner's homer helped lead Corpus Christi to a four-game win streak at the time, a streak that was snapped Tuesday against Amarillo with a 10-9 loss to the Sod Poodles.
